Dark moon blessings my friends,
It's a time for new beginnings as we await the next lunar cycle to begin. This is the time for us to prepare and get ready for the coming harvest moon of October and Samhain. Now is when we should be looking to get rid of or try to of the emotional baggage that has weighed us down over the year and to cleanse our selves and our spirits of things that no longer serve a usefulness in our lives so that we can start refreshed. The peacefulness of the new moon sky in Autumn lends itself well to introspection and clearing our thoughts as we contemplate what has come in our lives. I have found it is also has been a time of dreams/visions and a charge in the air as our sub conscience awakens and makes itself more known. we become more in tune with ourselves, our souls and our surroundings ..Magick is afoot. ;-) I enjoy candles and energy and all that entails. My rituals are fairly unstructured but they work for me. One i like to do is to have a candle or a small fire burning...visualize all that i wish to release and get out of my life and mentally thrust those thoughts into the fire as i watch the candle go out. Another which is to me more satisfying is to write them out on a piece of parchment, reading them out loud and tossing them into the flame of a small fire or lighting them into a pot or cauldron and watching as they burn there way out of your life.
So whatever you do to honour the new moon I wish you all well, Enjoy the new moon ...i know i will be this month ;-)
Been getting ready for our Labor day feast. Yeah it is a day early but coordinating can be such a treat with family this size. LOL. We have a broadway radio station playing for background music at the moment and this song came on...it has always been one of my favorites and the meaning is so very true...So I Youtubed it and I LOVE this rendition of it I found by Luther Vandross.
Had a good time in the city. Food show was fun and HUGE. Went out to Junior's for dinner and saw soem ofa improv show later. Afterwards wandered about Times Square and people watched as i wandered. Had a good time but home again now.
Well I will be heading off to NYC in the morning for a food show at the Javit's center. I'll be looking for stuff for my cafe and just ideas and maybe find a new cafe idea to chase after. i am kinda in a limbo state with the ice cream cafe I have now and may want to chase after opening another like my first one. the combo bistro cafe, art gallery and a community place.
Being back in New york will be fun ...wandering the streets after the show during the day and just people watching. Perhaps i can get my head cleared a little.
