Yeah I know I have been writing a lot lately. Making up for lost time I guess? LOL Actually with my head clearing, the dust settling and just trying to heal I'm getting back to me. A hurt and slightly empty me but me none the less.

I was thinking on something my nephew said to me. While the context he said it in has changed unfortunately, the idea behind it is truly sound. He told me that everything you want in life and strive for and hope for is one step out of your comfort zone.
I was pondering that last night as I sat outside watching the woods grow dark with the coming of night.
As a side note...the way the light changes as dusk approaches the woodlands where all takes on a pink or peachish glow. THERE is where you see and realize the majesty and beauty of Gaia and all she has to offer. Don't get lost in the mundane, always look to the beauty and magesty of nature and you will keep your grounding.

We all are striving to learn , to reach our potential and to explore our beliefs and chase after the happy ever after. All that we want and all that we hope for makes us take that step and trust it is just a little off our comfort zone. Sometimes we hesitate or sometimes we step ahead and then jump back a number of times but sooner or later we fall to the inevitable and hopefully take that plunge or wallow in spiritual and emotional stagnation. This is a ongoing process we repeat throughout our lives.

We strive to learn , to grow together, to seek new avenues and process that, it's scary, nothinh ever fits together perfectly and that is a challenge for us.to make it work...Yes, it may be out of what we would normally accept at times but as we run it over in our head and heart we come to question, That is where the true gift of growth comes in. You see when we question we challenge our beliefs we explore possibilities in our hearts and minds. we question our friends, we question other people we create a dialogue. through dialogue and conversation what is born is a idea.
out of that idea grows inspiration and out of that grows life. All this because we strayed from the predictable and followed our hearts that one step out of our comfort zone.
Open minds lead to open hearts lead to healing leads to growth lead right back to you.

So it is Mother's day again my friends.   This year it holds some more meaning to me due to all that has happened this past year. A wonderful woman with wonderful children and also our little lost one but never lost in memory.
Anyways,it's Mother's day now or soon will be or was already depending on when and where in the world you are when you read this.  But what is the REAL significance of it?? Do you know? Is it really just some holiday made up to sell some more greeting cards and fill up the restaurants or is there more to it then that?
With all of us here being wiccan/pagan I think we should be little more in tune with the meaning of Mother's day thanks to the goddess. The mother of all things in the universe that we live in and beyond. 
But before we can understand what the day has come to mean to us we need to understand who the day celebrates, Mothers. In ALL of our lives there is this extraordinary woman whom we call mother. Who is that woman? what does she mean to us?

This is a woman who nurtured you in her womb for 9 months, who talked to you and whispered her love to you before you were even brought into this world to experience all its wonders. This is the person who guided you and expanded your knowledge of the world around you, made you  strong, resilient and hungry for knowledge so that you may become the person that you are now..She was your guardian angel, supporting you beneath her outstretched  arms and caring for you when you did not want it. Being there for your success and heartaches. Always just a visit or phone-call away and ready to throw herself into whatever you may need of her. Why? Because she loves you and you are a extension of her. She is in you and will always be a part of you.  A mother doesn't just need to be the woman that gave birth to you it can be any woman that has filled that role in your life.
 Everyday is actually Mother's day.  It is something that should always be honoured and praised.   We should all be thankful to our mothers and instill in our children the love and respect for womanhood and motherhood. That there is this special person, this guardian angel and friend who should always know our undying love and respect and above all our thanks. 

So yes, I do think we need a Mothers day celebration.  Do you know why? It is in that  one day that we all can collectively honour all the mothers and the women who also fill that role in our lives with the honour, the gratitude and above all the respect they most certainly deserve in life. I love my mother and honour her and I thank her for having me on this day. I love and honour Nat for being the amazing mother that she is.  Joseph would have been truly blessed.
Grandmothers are twice blessed on this day with the love and adoration of their children and their children's children.  .....
. So to all you mothers out there and all of you who are in the role of being a mother figure to some one. Goddess bless you all. Happy Mother's day

Happy Family Day to all.  This being the first celebrated in Ontario it should be interesting to see how many actually spend time together as a family.  I love the idea behind it.  We celbrtate Mother's Day, Father's Day ...some celebrate Grandparent's Day.  We should celebrate the Family as well.  It ties in nicely with Kindness week as well

But just because it is a day of celebration and time together doesn't mean that this is the ONLY time we recognize this.  This should be something in our hearts and souls.  in who we are as family and who we are as humans.  I honour Natalie and the kids everyday of my life.  I honour my mother and siblings and extended family everyday.  It is a part of who I am and who we are.

Being Pagan/Wiccan by default should have us more in tune with the importance of family and kindness to others etc.  This is a perfect opportunity to lead by example in how we treat our family and spend time with them.

anyhow ..off my soapbox now 

( picking it up and going back into the house.  I wander pass Bliss and Contentment tending the outside garden of my little corner of the world.  i put my soapbox back in the closet and head on out to enjoy the new day)

I wish you and your familys a Happy Family Day if your area does not have this holiday see what you can do to have it in place in your community. I also leave  you with this last thought:

It is not always about flesh and blood.  It is what is in the hearts and souls that makes a  Dad , A  Mom, A Son  or a  Daughter and a Family.

Getting back to the Magick path. Lately I have been drawn more and more into it...It has always been  ebbs and flows with me till this past year.  Magickally I have been coming more in tune...plus able to sense and feel the energy of this world around me plus all the emotions wrapped into it. 

It is like it's own little place.  Sort of like  hi welcome to my space.  over here by the window we have this lovely collection of thoughts and dreams,  See the rich vibrant colours of some of the pieces?  They are nicely offset by the more muted pastels of the dreams.  Over here in the aquarium is a lovely selection of of beautiful fish representing  various emotions,  the brilliant reds, greens, blues and all as they all swim about through their own little world.  As we turn from the aquarium we meet Order, straightening and putting things in its place followed by Chaos ever the mischievous little one, playing about making a mess.  Setting the table over there is Responsibility and getting the meal all done.  That vision of beauty on the couch is Love.  One look or word from her and your heart will melt and all cares seem manageable.

My actual point is finding a way or path I guess.  Natalie tuned me into the Strega Italian Witchcraft and more and more from what she has shared with me plus what I have been finding it pulls me in.  Last night I did the spirit flame it was exciting and seemed like something I have done, known all my life.  The dancing blue flames in the bowl were hypnotizing and very good for getting centered.

Magick is amazing, especially when you can incorporate it into everyday life.  Life as you know has been quite tumultuous and using and learning this is helping me gain insight, perspective and a little bit of peace.  So onward down this path I go.  So,  I hope you liked the brief tour,  I'll show you some more of the place and it's inhabitants in future comments.  ;)

Rediscovering Us
We each have that place buried deep inside us where we go to get away.  it is a wonderous place filled with all of our hopes, our dreams and all our needs.  it is a place where our deepest feelings and even our fears feel safe out in the open.  Sometimes we lose ourselves in there.  it's safe there.  the world can't reach it or harm us.  We guard it so well at times we lose it ourselves.
We need to realize we are not alone and can feel safe coming out of our hidden place.  Sometimes we need to find that on our own other times through the help of others. We need to realize we are not alone and can feel safe coming out of our hidden corner.  

All of us in life, both past and present, are interconnected with the universe and the divinity.  We each play a role in each others lives be it to serve a purpose, teach a lesson or help on this journey through life.  We follow many pathes but all the roads lead to enlightenment, love and growth.  it is a matter of seeing that path and recognizing those on it that are destined to help and those that are there but to hinder.  You never know who these people are but when you connect with them, be it a glance, a passing smile or a simple conversation you will know right away you have found a companion soul.  One may even find their way into your hidden realm by chance, destiny or design.  down into that world we thought was our and ours alone to bear.  to allow this person to see, feel and share in all that is you takes a great deal of trust and love.  But this person adds new perspective to our little world as well as support and settles in to their own private corner there.  forever there as a lifelong companion.  From that moment onward they will touch your life in ways you would never imagine.  
Now don't mistake me here ..life is not going to be all happiness and joy.  There are going to be times that are truly horrible, painful and you feel miserable over.  That there seems no way out and that your prayers and intentions are going unanswered.  But looking back on it, these helped shape you into who you are.  without these obstacles, heartache and drama you would not have realized your potential, your willpower and inner light of being.  You don't need to dwell on the negative aspect but dwell on what these situations that you have suffered through.  the pain and the heartache and all that acompanies it has  brought into you. Life is about growing, emotionally, spiritually and physically.  We mature and get better in touch with the world around us.  We just need to LISTEN to the signals and see them in proper reflection. We tap into the energy of the universe that we are a part of in many ways.  We connect with the divinity through various methods.   Even the simple day to day can connect us with the goddess and with the universe as a whole.  The smile you gave that passing person could have been the spark she needed to realize that people do care.  The offer of help to a passing stranger, the holding the door for a person.  All these create a ripple of good intent in the universe which eventually finds its way back to you. At times we  get wrapped up in life and forget about that it is about living and growing.  By pausing and looking at it we realize that the goddess is all around us even when we are wrapped up in our own little worlds. Life may not always be wonderful but it is always a learning experience that can help us grow spiritually and emotionally.   getting in touch with ourselves, seeing the beauty around us.  Tapping into our gifts, magickly, creatively and seeing the simple beauty in the smile of a child, the warmth of a hand in yours, the feeling of satisfaction from a drawing or poem done.   We just need to be open to it and peace and happiness will come on down the path. We are never alone, be it with our companion or being one with the universe.  it IS a journey worth taking.
